Our Commitment to Organic Farming
SOWN is dedicated to organic farming amidst the rich natural environment of Saitama Prefecture. What is essential for healthy living?
It is “food you can eat with peace of mind” and “nutrient-rich ingredients.”
Cultivating and delivering these two things is our mission.
This region is a pioneer in organic farming. We immersed ourselves in its organic farming courses—places of learning—spending countless hours engaging with the soil, plants, and nature itself.
Furthermore, as course assistants, we put in the hard work while putting sustainable farming practices into action.
The origin of this effort was a sense of crisis over Japan's 37% food self-sufficiency rate. Importing vegetables means ingesting fungicides.
We spent days of trial and error considering the impact on the human body and striving for a healthy diet.
Cultivating food that can be reproduced is also the fundamental philosophy of the “Organic Tea Ceremony” we advocate.
Growing the ingredients for the meals and sweets served at tea gatherings with our own hands, covered in mud and sweating—that is where the essence of the Organic Tea Ceremony truly lies.
